Policy statements

Issue: AIDS

Today, our world faces one of the worse diseases ever to hit mankind and is referred to as AIDS. During the period of the early 1980s, many reports of AIDS were documented to affect people of different ages and until now advanced medical technology has not found a cure. All countries of the United Nations must work together on reducing the increasingly large number of AIDS cases in different regions of the world. It is unfortunate that India is on the top of the list of countries suffering from an increase in AIDS cases. The UN should support IMF in every way ranging from passing effective resolutions and acting immediately on countries suffering from this disease to financially supporting IMF in carrying out its extensive jobs. Children of different ages are dying everyday because of the severe consequences of AIDS, therefore,, we must work immediately effectively with no further delay.

Issue: Drugs

It is a fact that all countries of the United Nations and of the world as a whole face problems involving the spreading of different drugs among several age groups of the population. Therefore, all countries should help each other in acting immediately on the prevention of the use and spread of drugs. Drugs are known to be the major cause of death among teenagers whom our future relies on. Consequently with the increase of drugs cases, we are putting the future of our countries at risk. It is the job of the UN to support all organizations, which work on the prevention of drugs because if this aspect is not put to an immediate stop, the cost will be the future of our countries !

Issue: Debt Crisis

Many countries of the United Nations face crucial economical problems because of several reasons. India is known to be one of these countries, which faces a major debt crisis. As you all know that it is a relative fact that India has a large population with a low social status. Financial aids are given to people of the country in providing them with all needs of survival ranging from low costs of nutrition to medical facilities. However, we still continue to face several problems in the survival of most of our population.

Therefore, we kindly ask the UNDP and the different agencies, which we owe financially to cancel the debts for the sake of a better life for our people.

Opening Speech

Today, the delegation of India stands before you with the hope of solving many of the problems existing in our troubled world today. India has always been a supporter of issues aiming for the achievement of worldwide peace. Our leader and great mentor Ghandi has taught us that with peace we survive. Therefore, we will always be supporters of worldwide peace and serenity.

Before 20 years (in 1981), our world was struck by the discovery of a new disease deadly to mankind. This disease was categorized as an STD (sexual transmitted disease) and falls under the name of AIDS. Until today, advanced medical techniques have not found the cure for this disease and it continues spreading and killing many people from different countries. It is of my deepest sorrow, that India is one of these countries in which AIDS is most wide spread. Everyday reports of deaths show that AIDS has been increasing among the population of India and is still not yet put to a stop. Therefore, I ask all countries to contribute in supporting India's campaign in the prevention of the spreading of AIDs Let us put our hands together in immediately acting and supporting the prevention of AIDS among all countries for this disease has already killed enough of our children whom our future of a better life relies on!
