The Canadian National Anthem

Oh Canada

O Canada, terre de nos aieux,
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux.
Car ton bras sait porter l'épée,
Il sait porter la croix.
Ton histoire est une épopée
Des plus brillants exploits.
Et ta valeur, de foi trempée,
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Policy Statements

1) The Question of rising water levels due to the effect of global warming:

Global warming is a devastating issue in our world today, which are usually caused by human activities which change chemical arrangements of the atmosphere by increasing "green house gases" which are carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide, which melts glaciers causing oceans to warm and expand thermally and raises sea levels that can be a thereat to island nations, coastal cities and beaches with destruction if the rise continued for more than a century. Countries that has factories which is a very high percentage worldwide causes this problem, global warming can poke holes in the ozone layer and effect plant and vegetation to countries whom depend on agriculture letting them to pay and waste money to grow plants that have been ruined. Without decreasing this situation people will lose their home, and their lives, species and forest will die, disease like Malaria will spread and agriculture and fishing industries will and can suffer serious trouble.

Canada’s point of view of this situation is important, since Canada itself suffers from this situation and has many factories that produces a high percentage of "green house gases" ,which damages their agriculture and fishing industries, forest, species to die which is very important, since Canada depends on agriculture and fish, other than oil, producing gases and so on and so forth, and Canada’s area is filled with forest and they do not want to lose it.

2) The Question of controlling the spread of the SARS virus and finding a cure for it:

SARS, which stands for Severe Acute respiratory Syndrome, is the first major new infectious disease in the 21st century, it is also a contagious disease that is rapidly spreading worldwide in a very fast rate, it first started in China in November, but china however did not report of this disease until April the 20th as the SARS disease began to spread and infect and kill people, China admitted and reported the disease, but it was too late since now it have infect four countries, China itself, UK, Singapore and Canada. The spread of SARS worldwide takes Canada’s full attention, since Toronto, one of its big city in Canada has been infected, it was said that 24 citizens have already died due to SARS.

3) The Question of securing food and water resources for nations in time of war:

Imagine yourself facing a war, with no supply of food nor water, hard to believe isn’t it?, however many nations that are facing war have trouble getting the two important resources in our life, food and water, however with the help of other nations and organizations, this problem could and can be solved, as they provide the nation which is facing war with food and water.

Canada a peacekeeping countries cannot turn it’s cheek to this situation, as it does help these nation providing them with food, water, health aid and any other items they need.

4) The Question of creating a nuclear free zone in the Middle East:

Many years, many nation to countries are threatened by nuclear weapons causing fear and insecurity to the citizens, an organization called the Nuclear War Free Zone (NWFZ) was created to prevent nuclear production in areas to provide security to countries and citizens, it supports active nuclear disarmament to dismantle obvious and illegal nuclear programs. The NWFZ banned the manufacture, operation and transit of nuclear weapons in specific reasons, and demand to nuclear armed states that countries with Nuclear Free Zone is not to be threatened or attacked by nuclear weapons. With the establishment of a zone in the middle east it can be free of Israel’s Nuclear weapons and all other mass destruction in the region which represent regional security.

Canada supports this issue as it believes in peace and against any weapons and the cause of destruction, it encourages countries to be part of this organization and to agree of having a zone in order to create peace through out the world, however, Canada is not really involved about creating a nuclear free zone in the middle east but is looking forward for it to succeed.
